A new team, a new website!

After around 20 years of managing the organisation of the Hallam Chase, Richard Patton is standing aside to let a new team have a go.

To go with the change in guard, we’ve updated the website! A website for a run doesn’t need a huge amount of content, but given the historical status of this race we wanted to make space to include some of the history of the event, and a place to list historical records. Also, given that the race is handicapped, we’ve included some details on how we plan to handicap from now on (no doubt subject to changes and refinements over the years).

Hopefully the new format is a little friendlier to mobile devices and should be easier to update in the future.

A huge thanks to Richard and his team (names to follow) for all their work. When Richard took over the race there were fewer than 20 runners and it probably couldn’t have continued much longer as it was. He hands the race over to us in amazing health, with around 100 entrants to this year’s race. The race is nearing its 150th year and we hope to continue the excellent work and move the race from strength to strength. I reached out to Richard to get the names of deserving characters. I wanted to make sure that everyone that has contributed to the success of the event was recognised. Richard replied with a detailed sign off of his time as race director.
